This was my first attempt at high-resolution imaging of the moon's surface using a newly acquired TeleVue 4X PowerMate. The sky was fairly steady, and I was able to capture reasonably good detail. This is a 'stack' of four hand-selected images. The color of the image has been brought up slightly. Along with the mountain range, you prominent craters are also visible. The largest is Archimedes. To the upper right of Archimedes is Aristillus. Below Aristillus is Autolycus |
