|
Object Information Imaging Details |
||
The Lagoon and Trifid Nebulae form one of the most beautiful pairs of bright nebulae found in the night sky. The Lagoon (M8) is primarily an emission nebula with its characteristic Ha (red) coloration. The Trifid Nebula (M20) shows both emission (red) and reflection (blue) nebulosity. Both nebula are easily observed through any telescope or even through binoculars. Larger apertures will reveal more structure. This image was acquired at the 2008 Texas Star Party. A separate image of just M20 was cropped out of this image and can be found here. Clicking on the image above will bring up a larger image, or click here for the full resolution shot. |
